Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, inspected the newly completed Ansok Tideland on Tuesday.
He was accompanied by Ko In Ho, vice-premier and minister of Agriculture, Kang Hyong Bong, chairman of the South Phyongan Provincial People’s Committee, officials concerned and officials of the South Phyongan Provincial Tideland Reclamation General Enterprise.
He referred to the need to hasten the building of the network of facilities of the reclaimed tideland by giving precedence to supplying materials such as cement, take measures for supplying water for irrigation and make large and stable yield by making further study of salt resistant rice species.
He called on the officials and builders of the enterprise to make fresh innovation by giving foremost importance to science and technology and actively introducing peculiar construction method of our own style in reclaiming of new tidelands on the basis of success and experience which they have already achieved, thus contributing to realizing the large-scale projects of our Party for the remaking of nature.
