The 2024 Sports Contest among Officials of National Institutions kicked off at the Taekwon-Do Hall on March 5 in Pyongyang.
Teams, grouped into four categories, will compete in various events, including men’s volleyball, table tennis, tug of war, Taekwon-Do, and hurdle-overcoming. The competitions are spread across the Taekwon-Do Hall, Sosan Football Stadium, and the Handball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street.
The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, along with officials, players, and exemplary participants from various commissions, ministries, and national agencies active in mass sporting activities.
Choe Song Nam, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, delivered the opening address, setting the tone for the spirited competitions ahead.
To cap off the ceremony, a men’s volleyball match between the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Chemical Industry added excitement to the event.
