Phyongnam Noodle House, a public catering facility situated in the scenic Moran Hill area in the capital city of Pyongyang, has undergone renovations much to the delight of citizens.

Established in February 1959, the restaurant has long been celebrated for offering unique national dishes.

In December 2023, it underwent a transformation into a gable-roofed Korean-style structure, boasting a total floor space exceeding 10,000 square meters. The design was terraced to harmonize seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The establishment now features eight dining halls, accommodating up to 1,000 guests simultaneously, along with a Taedonggang Beer bar.

Chae Kwang Il, a resident of Wolhyang-dong, Moranbong District, Pyongyang, shared his enthusiasm after visiting on New Year’s Day, stating, “The distinctive buckwheat flavor lured me here. I was thrilled to savor the authentic taste of the renowned Pyongyang cold noodles in such an exceptional service environment.”

According to the manager, Ri Jong Nam, the restaurant emphasizes a variety of national foods and soft drinks, with a focus on specialties like kogijaengban noodles (meat-garnished noodles on a flat plate) and Pyongyang cold noodles. Since its reopening, there has been a notable increase in the number of visitors dining at the establishment.
