South Hwanghae Province in the DPRK is making efforts to increase the per-hectare yield of dry-field rice, as part of its agricultural policy.

The provincial Party committee is inspiring agricultural workers to recognize the significance of dry-field rice farming, and encouraging them to work towards its implementation.

The officials of the provincial rural economy committee are intensifying their farming operations to boost the yield of dry-field rice per hectare. The province is focusing on increasing the area of cultivation for dry-field rice strains with high yield, while also taking into consideration the geographical features of the area and distributing rice strains accordingly. Various measures are being taken to ensure effective weeding, which is an important process in dry-field rice farming.

Moreover, the province is working towards increasing the rate of mechanization in dry-field rice farming. It is also promoting the experience and techniques gained by farms that have been successful in increasing the per-hectare yield in dry-field rice farming. These efforts are expected to contribute towards the overall development of the agricultural sector in the province.
