The aged people in the DPRK enjoyed cultural and leisure activities on International Day of Older Persons.

An art performance of the elderly in Pyongyang City was given at the Central Youth Hall on Sunday.

Present to enjoy it were Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, O Su Yong, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Jong Yong Su, minister of Labor who is chairman of the C.C., Federation for the Care of the Elderly of Korea, Cha Hui Rim, chairman of the Pyongyang City People’s Committee, couples of former unconverted long-term prisoners, war veterans, meritorious persons and pensioners.

Staff members of foreign embassies and missions of international organizations here and overseas compatriots staying in the homeland were present on invitation.

Put on the stage were male solo, female solo, dance and other colorful numbers.

The performers gave representation of deep thanks to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who put them forward as forerunners of the revolution and takes care of them so that they are full of energy despite the advanced age.

Sports and amusement games of the elderly took place at pleasure grounds and parks in the capital city.

Kind services were given to the elderly to delight them at Okryu Restaurant, Chongryu Restaurant and other public catering establishments and bases for cultural and leisure activities.

Such events were held in different parts of the country to congratulate the elderly for their patriotic devotion to the country and posterity.
