Situated in Ryanggang Province, Samjiyon City in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is renowned for its abundant blueberry resources. The city is home to a modern blueberry drink factory, contributing to the production of various blueberry-based goods.
In October of 2019 Kim Jong Un, showing keen interest, visited the Samjiyon Blueberry Drink Factory. Impressed by the diverse array of products created by the blueberry drink production equipment and the high-quality undiluted blueberry solution stored in the raw materials storehouses, he expressed satisfaction. Comrade Kim Jong Un remarked on the positive outlook for the factory, appreciating the efforts invested in establishing such a facility in Samjiyon City.
Emphasizing the potential of blueberry as a specialty of Mt. Paektu and Ryanggang Province, he suggested that a variety of drinks and processed goods incorporating blueberry be promoted as well-known products enjoyed by people throughout the country. His guidance reflected a genuine desire to enhance the production of high-quality goods, ultimately contributing to the improved livelihoods of the people.
In response to his vision, the dedicated employees of the Samjiyon Blueberry Drink Factory have successfully crafted a range of popular blueberry products, including blueberry wine, blueberry juice, and blueberry sweet jelly. These delectable offerings have garnered widespread favor among the people, aligning with Comrade Kim Jong Un’s aspiration to bring joy and prosperity to their lives.
