DPRK women footballers returned home on Monday after winning in the 2017 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship.
Footballer Kim Kyong Yong won the best player and top scorer prize.
The footballers and coaches were greeted by Ri Il Hwan, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Jang San, secretary general of the DPRK Football Association, and officials concerned.
Sportspersons and families of the footballers presented garlands and bunches of flowers to the players and coaches, congratulating them on their successful games.
Pyongyangites gave warm welcome to the footballers along streets of the city.
The players and coaches visited the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill to lay a floral basket and bouquets and pay tribute to them.
