The DPRK athletes showcased the pride and glory of Juche Korea by achieving a remarkable series of new world records during the 2024 Asian Weightlifting Championships. These exceptional individuals, representing the DPRK, made a triumphant return home, leaving an indelible mark on the global weightlifting community.
Participated by over 190 athletes from more than 30 countries and regions, the championships witnessed the outstanding performance of eleven DPRK competitors who not only set seven new world records but also secured an impressive total of 33 medals, comprising 32 gold medals and one silver medal.
Upon their arrival at Pyongyang International Airport on February 10, both male and female weightlifters received a warm welcome from members of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials from the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the Weightlifting Association, as well as their families.
In a touching display of admiration, fellow sports enthusiasts showered the weightlifters with congratulations, offering garlands and bouquets as tokens of appreciation for their extraordinary achievements.
