A DPRK Olympic players team returned home on Saturday after taking part in the 31st Olympic Games held in Rio de Janeiro. They won seven medals in the Olympiad.
They were greeted by Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission who doubles as vice-chairman of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, Kim Jong Su, first vice-minister of Physical Culture and Sports and vice-chairman of the DPRK Olympic Committee, and officials concerned.
The families and sportspersons presented garlands and bunches of flowers to Rim Jong Sim, Ri Se Gwang, Om Yun Chol, Choe Hyo Sim, Kim Kuk Hyang, Kim Song I and Kim Song Guk and their coaches.
The bus carrying them headed for the city. Pyongyangites congratulated them on their successes along the route.
They were interviewed by media persons at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium. They renewed their will to acquire higher sports technique to bag gold medals in international games in the future.
