Rice plants on a floating field in the River Pothong flowing through Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, have come into ears.

The field, with an area of several hundred square meters, was created on the basis of the technology of purifying water through artificial floating garden.
In this regard, Man Ho Song, a researcher of Kim Il Sung University, told:
This technology helps promote the growth of plants in river as well as purify water. It is possible to purify at least 95 percent of river water through floating gardens created with rice and flowering plants. The introduction of the technology will be of significance in our country which is short of the area under cultivation but has many rivers.
