Chairman Kim Jong Un sent a message of greeting to Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), president of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC, Monday.
In his message he extended warm congratulations to Xi Jinping and through him to the Central Committee of the CPC and the government and people of the PRC on the 55th anniversary of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the DPRK and the PRC on behalf of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government and people of the DPRK.
The treaty signed by the leaders of the elder generation of the two countries 55 years ago has become a firm legal foundation for constantly consolidating the friendly and cooperative relations that were forged in the bloody struggle for independence against imperialism and for socialism, the message said, and went on:
It is the consistent stand of our party and the government of the DPRK to consolidate the bilateral relations of long historical roots.
We will develop the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation in line with the requirements of the new century together with the Chinese comrades and thus positively contribute to propelling the cause of socialist construction in the two countries and ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I sincerely wish you and the Chinese people bigger success in the efforts for the prosperity of the country.
