As an organization committed to promoting international friendship and understanding, the International Friendship Initiative “Explore DPRK” stands in solidarity with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in response to the recent unfair and imbalanced attitude taken by the UN Secretary General.

We express our strong support for the DPRK’s legitimate exercise of its right to self-defense against the dangerous military actions of the US and south Korea, which pose a serious threat to the security interests of the DPRK. It is unjust and unacceptable for the UN Secretary General to ignore the root cause of the worsening situation on the Korean peninsula this year, which is the reckless military moves and irresponsible bravery of the US and south Korea seeking to contain the DPRK by force. We urge the UN Secretary General to properly consider the situation and adopt a fair and balanced attitude that would help stabilize the Korean peninsula substantially.

The International Friendship Initiative “Explore DPRK” believes that the UN body should play a fair role in ensuring global peace and security, and not be used as a tool for the US unjust hostile policy toward the DPRK. The UN Secretary-General must avoid taking an unreasonable and prejudiced stand on the Korean peninsula issue, as it would only incite further hostile acts of the US and its followers against the DPRK. We affirm our unwavering support for the DPRK’s right to self-defense and call on the international community to stand with us in promoting a peaceful resolution to the situation on the Korean peninsula.
