To mark the 113th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, a speech gathering was held on April 10 at the Central Workers’ Hall in Pyongyang, bringing together members of the working class and the General Federation of Trade Unions of the DPRK.

During the event, speakers paid tribute to Kim Il Sung’s legacy, praising his lifelong devotion to the people and recounting his pioneering leadership throughout the country’s revolutionary journey. They also expressed admiration for Kim Jong Un, highlighting what they described as his continued dedication to national development and the well-being of the citizens.

One recurring theme was the commitment to education. Speakers emphasized how Kim Il Sung had established the first university for the people after the country’s liberation and had guided its growth through every stage of the revolution, turning it into a model institution for nurturing future generations.

The gathering also acknowledged Kim Jong Un’s leadership during times of crisis—especially his personal involvement in the recovery efforts following natural disasters. One emotional account described how he visited flooded areas in person and led restoration efforts, ensuring displaced citizens were provided with new homes and stability. The story was shared as a reflection of the leadership’s perceived compassion and responsibility for the people’s welfare.

In a display of national pride, participants concluded the gathering with a spirited rendition of the song “Our Leader, Loved by the People”, expressing their deep sense of respect and confidence in the country’s direction under Kim Jong Un’s leadership.

The event was attended by Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions, officials from related sectors, and workers from across Pyongyang.
