State academic degrees and titles have been awarded to intellectuals who have actively contributed to the country’s economic development, improvement of people’s living standards, and the education of future generations.
The awarding ceremony held on the 23rd was attended by Vice Premier of the Cabinet Jon Sung Guk and intellectuals.
After the decision of the Academic Degrees and Titles Awarding Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was announced, honorary titles were conferred on Kim Ryong Gol, a lecturer at the Central Cadres School of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and Um Ki Su, a researcher at Kim Il Sung University.
Academic titles of professor were conferred on Ri Hyok Chol, a lecturer at Kim Il Sung University; Ri Ryun Hui, a director; Choe Chang Il, a department head; Han Yong Ha, a researcher; Kim Tae Song, a department head at Kim Chaek University of Technology; Ri Sang Guk, a lecturer at the University of People’s Economics; O Pil Hun, a deputy director of the State Academy of Sciences; Hong Hak Ho, a researcher; Jo Kyu Chol, a lecturer at Chong Jun Taek Wonsan University of Economics; and Ri Ki Ho, a researcher at Pyongsong University of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry.
Doctoral degrees were awarded to 84 individuals, including Ju Hyon Chol, a department head at the Central Cadres School of the Workers’ Party of Korea; Pak Kyong Jun, a teacher; Kim Kwon Hyok, a teacher; Jong Kwang Son, a lecturer at Kim Il Sung University; Yu Dok Chol, a director at Kim Chaek University of Technology; Kim Bok Sil, a director of the Cosmetics Research Institute at the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory; Kwak Kyong Chol, a director at the Galaxy Technology Preparation Center of the Galaxy Trading Bureau; and Kil Sun Yong, a director at the Kangwon Province People’s Committee.
