The February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians is rendering great services to the building of an economic power as the core shock brigade and sci-tech advancing group of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
The members of the February 17 Shock Brigade of Scientists and Technicians who were dispatched to the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex have recently made valuable sci-tech achievements conducive to putting the metallurgical industry on a Juche basis.
They established a new casting process for the oxygen heat blast furnace and developed a new binding material with domestic raw material.
They further increased the production capacity of oxygen, completed the combined automatic system for the oxygen heat blast furnace to suit the specific condition and settled sci-tech problems for raising the quality of steel.
They also manufactured and installed measuring devices needed in normal operation of waste-heat boiler, turbine generator and air compressor.
Meanwhile, they introduced a technology of producing the material for oxygen blowing and opened a prospect for making various valves by their own efforts.
Now they are putting spurs to the research into expanding the capacity of iron production and improving the quality of metallic material.
