Schoolchildren from across the DPRK are taking part in a 250-mile journey retracing the historic path of the National Liberation movement. The expedition recently passed through Hyangsan on their route.

The group, which began its journey at Mangyongdae on January 22, is traveling through locations tied to the life and legacy of Generalissimo Kim Il Sung. Along the way, they are learning about significant events and places connected to the country’s revolutionary history.

In Kaechon City and Kujang County, officials, local residents, and students greeted the group warmly, offering encouragement and support for their journey.

While in Hyangsan, the students visited notable sites, including the Soson Hostel and the Tokgol Revolutionary Site, where they deepened their understanding of the nation’s history and the efforts that shaped its liberation.

During breaks, the students engaged in cultural and educational activities, such as studying excerpts from Kim Il Sung’s memoirs, With the Century, and participating in discussions about the stories of anti-Japanese guerrillas.

On January 24, the group reached Hyangsan Township, proudly carrying their expedition flag at the front of their ranks. They were welcomed by local officials, residents, and fellow schoolchildren.

To honor Kim Il Sung, the group laid a floral basket and bouquets at his statue in Hyangsan Township and paid their respects.

The journey continues as the group departed Hyangsan on January 25, committed to completing the historic expedition.
