The Sangwon Cement Complex has announced its goal to produce significantly more cement this year, aiming to meet the demands of ongoing large-scale construction projects across the country.

In recent years, the complex has played a critical role in supporting various national infrastructure initiatives. Officials at the complex reported that cement and clinker production have already exceeded previous benchmarks, with output increasing by 105% and 114%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Motivated by the directives from the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee in December, workers at the complex have pledged to pursue even higher production targets in 2025. According to internal sources, the proposed goal for cement production represents a tenfold increase over last year’s surplus.

Meeting this ambitious target requires optimising existing resources and advancing technological capabilities. The complex’s management has developed detailed daily and monthly plans to achieve these goals, focusing on science and technology to improve efficiency. Workers and engineers have emphasised the importance of innovation and the need to address production challenges systematically.

Despite the high demands, the complex has reported daily production exceeding rated capacity, attributing this success to the dedication and efforts of its workforce. Officials remain optimistic that, through collective effort and the application of new methods, the complex can achieve its targets and contribute to the country’s broader development plans.

This year’s increased production is expected to support key construction projects while bolstering the cement industry’s overall capacity and resilience.
