Ri Su Yong, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, had a talk with the visiting joint delegation of political parties of the State Duma of Russia headed by Kazbek Taysaev, secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation who is head of the Russia-DPRK Friendship Parliamentary Group of the State Duma, on Wednesday.

Ri said that the WPK and people of the DPRK are dynamically conducting the struggle for winning the final victory in the building of a powerful socialist nation and the standoff with the U.S. by dint of self-reliance and self-development, true to the spirit of the Second Plenary Meeting of the 7th WPK Central Committee under the wise leadership of Chairman of the WPK Kim Jong Un.

He conveyed the statement of the DPRK government on the successful test-fire of the intercontinental ballistic rocket Hwasong-15 which was newly developed according to the political resolution and strategic decision of the WPK, and stressed that Russia should have a proper understanding of the DPRK’s efforts for ensuring peace and security of the Korean peninsula and the world.

Kazbek Taysaev noted that during its visit the delegation witnessed and admired the great successes made by the Korean people in the strengthening of defense capabilities, the economic development, the improvement of people’s standard of living and all other fields.

The members of the delegation hope that their visit would serve as encouragement and support to the peace-loving Korean people who are waging a heroic struggle against the moves by the hostile forces to stifle the DPRK’s sovereignty and rights to existence and development, he said.

They expressed the stand of major Russian political parties that the issue of the Korean peninsula should be solved peacefully and they flatly blast the aggression policy against the DPRK by the U.S. and its followers.

The talk discussed the matters arising in further strengthening the friendly and cooperative ties between the WPK and the United Russia Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia and “A Just Russia” in the interests of the two countries and two peoples.
