Foodstuffs made with potato farina are getting popular in the DPRK.
In this regard, Kim Jong Hui, a teacher of Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, told KCNA:
Potato farina is rich in nutrients like carbohydrate, protein, oil and vitamins. Unlike potato starch, it contains vitamin C in abundance.
And it has vitamin B complex, which has the anti-aging effect, and other ingredients efficacious for high blood pressure and diabetes.
For this reason, potato farina comes to be popular health food material with which diverse nutritious foodstuffs like noodle, bread and cake can be made.
A modern potato farina factory was built in Samjiyon County, Ryanggang Province, the potato-producing area of the country, as part of the project to better the dietary life of the people.
