Premier Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, made a field survey of the Institute of Agricultural Science.
He encouraged the officials, scientists and technicians of the institute, who managed to manufacture a high-performance fertilizer molding machine badly needed for countryside, and called on them to wage a dynamic campaign for research and creation in order to push forward the agricultural front by dint of science and technology true to the spirit of the April Plenary Meeting of the Party Central Committee.
A consultative meeting held on the spot discussed the issues arising in rebuilding the institute on an expansion basis and making sure that the scientific research findings prove effective in agricultural production.
Earlier, the premier inspected the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex and the Ryongnam Dockyard to discuss the measures for consolidating the independent foundation of the chemical industry and increasing shipbuilding successes.
