Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, inspected units in the field of food industry in Pyongyang.

In the Pyongyang Wheat Flour Processing Factory and the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory, he learned in detail about the operation of the equipment and the production and stressed the need to decisively increase the quality of the foodstuff to meet demands of the people and to cater for their tastes.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issues of building up technical forces of the factories and bringing about the improvement in raising the quality of products by properly mapping out management and business strategy as intended by the Party to further improve the people’s standard of living.

He also stressed the need to do well the work for generalizing experience gained in ensuring the quality of the products during his visits to the Sonhung Foodstuff Factory, the Kyonghung Unhasu Foodstuff Factory and the Mangyongdae Kyonghung Foodstuff Factory.
