The State Stamp Bureau of the DPRK has recently issued new stamps (four individuals) introducing fine art pieces created in the 19th century and early years of the 20th century.
Carried in the stamps are fine arts “Lotus and Water Bird” and “Magnolia and Chicken” drawn in the 19th century and “Carp and Killifish” and “Dogs Barking at the Moon” by Jo Sok Jin (1853-1920) and Ri To Yong (1884-1933), well-known painters early in the 20th century.
Those pieces show well the colorful richness of Korean painting and are regarded as precious national fine art heritages.
