Kujang County in North Phyongan Province has celebrated the opening of its first regional-industry factories, marking a significant milestone for the area.
The construction of these factories began with guidance from General Secretary Kim Jong Un, who emphasized the importance of creating facilities that reflect the progress of the era and leave a positive legacy for future generations. His vision inspired the project to prioritize modernity, utility, and alignment with local conditions.
The inauguration ceremony on January 24 was attended by officials and residents who expressed enthusiasm for the economic and social benefits these factories will bring. Kim Chol Sam, chief secretary of the provincial committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, spoke about the transformation of Kujang County, comparing it to the enduring natural beauty of its Ryongmun Cavern. He highlighted the rapid development of the factories as a reflection of dedication to improving people’s lives.
Choe Hui Chol, head of the Kujang County Party Committee, vowed to focus on producing high-quality goods unique to the region, ensuring these factories contribute to a vibrant local economy. He also emphasized the importance of training skilled workers and maintaining a steady supply of raw materials to enhance production.
After the ribbon-cutting, attendees toured the facilities, designed to blend modern functionality with the county’s natural landscape. Celebrations included an art performance and a community dance, culminating in a fireworks display that lit up the evening sky.
The new factories represent a step forward for Kujang County, aiming to improve living standards and foster economic growth.
