Modern regional-industry factories have been established in Yonthan County, North Hwanghae Province, DPRK. These factories are expected to boost local economic development by utilizing the area’s abundant resources, including traditional medicinal ingredients and Aronia melanocarpa, a fruit known for its health benefits.

The opening of the factories provides the residents with improved living conditions and access to new opportunities. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to enhance regional infrastructure and local industry, promoting sustainable development in rural areas.

The inauguration ceremony took place on January 16, with attendance from officials in North Hwanghae Province and Yonthan County, soldier-builders, and factory employees.

During the ceremony, Pak Chang Ho, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee, highlighted the importance of regional development as a key priority for the country’s progress. He praised the successful establishment of these factories as an example of practical steps taken to improve the quality of life for local communities.

Jon Nam Chol, chief secretary of the Yonthan County Committee, emphasized the commitment to fully utilizing the natural and geographical advantages of the area. He noted that the factories represent a significant achievement for the county and pledged to ensure their efficient operation.

The event included the ceremonial cutting of the inauguration tape, followed by cheers from local residents. A colorful display of balloons and fireworks added to the celebration. An art performance by the provincial art troupe further marked the occasion.

After the ceremony, attendees toured the newly constructed facilities to observe their state-of-the-art features and production capabilities. The evening concluded with a firework display, celebrating the milestone in the county’s development.
