The people of Jangphung County, Kaesong Municipality, gathered to celebrate the inauguration of new regional-industry factories, a development aimed at improving local livelihoods and boosting self-sufficiency.

Built as part of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy, these new factories will provide essential goods and create economic opportunities for residents. The facilities include modern production lines that will help strengthen the county’s economy and improve access to locally made products.

The inauguration ceremony on February 1 was attended by officials, workers, factory employees, and the soldier-builders who contributed to the construction efforts.

Kim Yong Gyu, Chief Secretary of the Kaesong Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), addressed the event, highlighting the importance of regional development in ensuring balanced economic growth across the country. He emphasized the need for continued efforts to strengthen local industry and improve people’s living standards.

Hong Song Il, Chief Secretary of the Jangphung County Committee of the WPK, also spoke at the ceremony, expressing his commitment to ensuring that the new factories operate efficiently and contribute to the well-being of the community.

Following the speeches, the factory representatives cut the inauguration tape, marking the official launch of production. Attendees then toured the new facilities, witnessing the modern equipment and production lines that will support local manufacturing.

To celebrate the occasion, an art performance was held, bringing a lively and festive atmosphere to the county. Later in the evening, a fireworks display lit up the sky over Jangphung County, bringing the day’s celebrations to a joyful close.

These new factories represent a step forward in the ongoing efforts to strengthen regional industries and improve the quality of life for the people of Jangphung County.
