A nationwide conference honoring exemplary members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) was held in Pyongyang on April 23 and 24.
The purpose of the conference was to promote and encourage the noble values of loyalty, patriotism, and collectivism rooted in communist ideals, and to help further instill these values in the country’s working class and union members — molding them into true revolutionaries and patriots with strong moral integrity and a deep sense of social responsibility.
The event was attended by Kim Jong Sun, a department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials from the GFTUK Central Committee, and honored union members from across the country.
Following opening remarks by Pak In Chol, Chairman of the GFTUK Central Committee, a keynote address was delivered.
In the report, the speaker highlighted the achievements of the trade union over the past decade, emphasizing the role of workers and union members in strengthening the nation and advancing socialism — efforts made possible through the trust, dedication, and leadership of Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
The address underscored the responsibility of all union leaders and members to serve as a vibrant vanguard force in the nation’s journey toward comprehensive revitalization, embodying the spirit of unity and collective effort.
It also called upon attendees to uphold the communist slogan, “One for all, and all for one!”, and to follow the example of previous generations by working selflessly for the good of the Party and the country, even at personal sacrifice.
The speaker encouraged everyone to elevate their loyalty to the Party, heroic dedication, and genuine patriotism — especially in this meaningful year marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea — and to fulfill their roles in the ongoing struggle for a historic transformation.
The conference continued with participant discussions, and concluded with the adoption of a formal oath of loyalty to Comrade Kim Jong Un.
