A music and dance performance titled “The Eternal Echo of Paektu Schoolyard”, celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, was held on the 25th at the April 25th Cultural Hall.
Choe Ryong Hae — member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly — attended the event, along with Workers’ Party Secretary Choe Tong Myong, General Political Bureau Director of the Korean People’s Army Jong Kyong Thaek, other military leaders, service members, staff and students from the Mangyongdae and Kang Ban Sok Revolutionary Schools, and Pyongyang citizens.
After the solemn performance of the national anthem of the DPRK, the stage was filled with various performances, including iconic songs that glorify the invincible traditions of the Korean revolution.
The performers passionately sang about the blood-stained footsteps of the martyrs who fought imperialist oppression, the everlasting history of resistance, and the shining era of a powerful nation rising on this land infused with the blood and spirit of the anti-Japanese guerillas.
Songs like the male solo and choral rendition of the immortal classic “The Scent of Home” and the male quintet and choir performance “Even If We Die, Let Us Not Abandon Our Revolutionary Belief” stirred deep emotions among the audience, recalling the noble lives of the first generation of the Korean revolution who gave their youth and lives without hesitation for the liberation of the homeland, filled with burning love for the country and unbreakable revolutionary faith.
The people’s and soldiers’ overflowing passion and joy at opening a new era of unprecedented prosperity and revival under the leadership of Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un exploded on stage through the song and dance “Dear Father”.
The performance, which greatly boosted the revolutionary spirit and determination of the people and soldiers, received high praise from the audience.
