LED headlight was recently developed by the Institute of Electronic Goods in the DPRK to replace high-candlepower glow headlights for electric locomotives.
It is said that electric locomotives of the Pyongyang Railway Bureau were already equipped with LED headlights.
The new LED headlight is 3 times stronger than the existing high-candlepower glow headlight in brightness, 100 times longer in illuminant serviceable life and 60 percent less in power consumption.
According to Ri Myong Chol, section chief of the institute, the LED headlight is a high-tech product with focusing-lens function.
