As the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) celebrate the most glorious holiday of February, the Day of the Shining Star, the “February 16 Ice Sculpture Festival – 2025” is taking place in Samjiyon City, drawing large numbers of visitors each day.
With a deep sense of respect and admiration for the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, officials and workers from Ryanggang Province have created hundreds of ice sculptures, proudly displaying them at the festival.
The venue is filled with visitors, including officials, workers, students, and members of revolutionary pilgrimage groups who have come to pay tribute to the revolutionary legacy of the great leader.
At the center of the festival stands a grand ice sculpture of Comrade Kim Jong Il, where visitors stop to reflect on his immortal achievements and lifelong devotion to the people. One of the highlights of the festival is the ice sculpture titled “Hearts of Devotion”, which expresses the deep longing and boundless reverence for the great leader.
The festival also features sculptures depicting historic revolutionary themes, including the log cabin headquarters, the trumpeter of the anti-Japanese guerrilla army, and propaganda slogans, all symbolizing the indomitable fighting spirit of the Korean people. A powerful inscription reading “The Spirit of Paektu’s Fierce Winds” reminds visitors of the revolutionary traditions forged in the sacred land of Mount Paektu and carried forward under the wise leadership of Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Adding to the grandeur of the event are sculptures showcasing the remarkable transformation of Samjiyon City, illustrating the happy and prosperous lives of the Korean people under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
The festival’s atmosphere is further enhanced by breathtakingly illuminated sculptures and decorative installations, harmonizing with the picturesque winter scenery of Samjiyon and leaving visitors in awe.
This grand festival is not only a celebration of art but also a profound demonstration of the unbreakable revolutionary spirit and boundless loyalty of the Korean people.
