In celebration of the 113th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, a national gathering of the Korean Children’s Union was held on April 14 at Changdok School in Pyongyang.

The event brought together delegates of the Union from across the country, including students from Mangyongdae and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary Schools, students from Pyongyang, and new members joining the organization.

Also present were Choe Tong Myong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials from related sectors, youth league representatives, honored workers, and innovators from the city.

Before the meeting began, participants laid flower baskets and bouquets at the statue of President Kim Il Sung located at Changdok School, paying tribute to his legacy.

Mun Chol, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, delivered the keynote speech. He highlighted the historical role of President Kim Il Sung in establishing the foundations of the country’s youth movement during the anti-Japanese struggle and spoke of his efforts to guide and nurture the younger generation as future pillars of the nation.

He also mentioned the contributions of President Kim Jong Il in shaping the Korean Children’s Union into a group of young patriots, emphasizing both character and education.

The speaker underlined that under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, the organization is now experiencing a period of renewed growth, with young members being developed into patriotic youth equipped with knowledge, creativity, and physical strength.

He encouraged all Union members to study hard and prepare themselves as future contributors to the nation’s continued development, upholding the slogan: “Let us study for the sake of Korea!”

The event also included an official induction ceremony for new members of the Korean Children’s Union. Under the guidance of Secretary Choe Tong Myong, the new inductees took an oath of membership.

Following the oath, the new members responded enthusiastically with their first greeting as Union members, shouting the pledge: “Always ready for our socialist country!”

The gathering concluded with a series of celebratory speeches.
