Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and Premier of the DPRK Cabinet, visited key industrial and agricultural sites in South Phyongan Province to assess production efforts and encourage workers.
During his visit to the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine, part of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex, he met with miners working to increase coal output. He emphasised the importance of securing reserve coal seams by prioritizing prospecting and tunneling, ensuring stable and long-term production. He also highlighted the need to continuously improve transport capacity to support efficient coal extraction.
At the Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory, the Premier reviewed ammonium phosphatic fertilizer production for the upcoming agricultural season. He stressed the importance of modernising production systems, maintaining high output levels, and adopting advanced manufacturing methods to support national food production.
Visiting the Sunchon Catfish Farm, he discussed measures to maintain optimal water temperature in the fish ponds and ensure proper feed supply during winter. He underscored the role of scientific fish farming in boosting productivity and contributing to food security.
During field consultative meetings, officials reviewed plans for:
- Upgrading coal-processing technology at mines to enhance efficiency.
- Ensuring stable raw material supplies for fertilizer production.
- Introducing advanced fish farming techniques to increase aquaculture output.
These visits reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen production and technological development across key industries, supporting the broader goals of economic growth and self-sufficiency in the DPRK.
