Under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the first-year goals of the “20×10 Regional Development Policy” – a transformative national initiative—have been successfully achieved with the completion of local industrial factories in Kim Hyon-jik County. This marks a historic milestone in the country’s development efforts.

As part of a broader national strategy, modern light industry factories have been built in 20 cities and counties within a year, significantly improving local economies. These projects reflect Kim Jong Un’s commitment to regional development and the well-being of the people.

Kim Hyon Jik County, which suffered from severe flooding last year, has undergone rapid reconstruction, transforming into a “rural cultural city.” Now, with the completion of modern factories, the region has taken another major step toward economic revitalization.

On February 11, a grand inauguration ceremony was held for the new factories, attended by local officials, workers, and military construction personnel.

Ri Tae Il, Secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, delivered a speech, emphasizing that the speed and scale of these transformations within less than a year are remarkable. He praised the dedication of the workers and military personnel involved in the project and expressed confidence in further progress.

The newly built factories will produce high-quality local goods under the county’s own brand, boosting self-sufficiency. Previously, the region had little to offer visitors in terms of local products. Now, these facilities will provide essential consumer goods and contribute to improving residents’ living standards.

During the ceremony, Yun Chang Sik, Secretary of the Kim Hyon Jik County Party Committee, expressed gratitude to Kim Jong Un for his leadership and pledged to ensure stable production at the new factories. He stressed the importance of securing raw materials, training skilled workers, and maintaining product quality to sustain operations.

Following speeches, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place, accompanied by celebratory performances, balloons, and fireworks.

Attendees toured the new factories, witnessing first-hand the modernization efforts. Many were amazed by the rapid transformation, noting that these high-tech production facilities rival those in urban areas. Residents expressed pride in the fact that these products were made locally using regional raw materials.

The employees of the new factories vowed to increase production and improve quality under the slogan “Everything for the improvement of people’s lives!” Meanwhile, military builders pledged to continue supporting local development projects across the country.

With the success of the first-year goals of the “20×10 Local Development Policy,” the DPRK aims to continue regional development efforts. Officials emphasized that this initiative will accelerate economic growth, improve living standards, and help realize the vision of a “prosperous socialist nation” leading up to the 80th anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea in 2025.
