A new melamine resin production line has been established at the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.
The new facility includes a melamine monomer synthesis process and features precision-engineered systems that are energy-efficient, resource-conserving, technology-intensive, and environmentally conscious.
With the completion of this modern production line, the DPRK now has improved capacity to produce melamine resin—an essential material for economic development and improving people’s living standards—using domestic technology and resources. This marks another solid step forward in advancing the independence of the chemical industry.
The completion ceremony for the melamine resin production line was held on June 9 at the complex.
Present at the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Yang Sung Ho, Minister of Chemical Industry Kim Chol Ha, Ri Jong Nam, Chief Secretary of the South Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Pak Hyon Chol, Chairman of the South Hamgyong Provincial People’s Committee, as well as scientists, engineers, and designers who contributed to the project, officials from supporting units, and workers of the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex.
Deputy Prime Minister Yang Sung Ho delivered the congratulatory address.
After the ceremony, attendees toured the new facility.
A performance was held in celebration of the project’s completion.
