Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Political Bureau and Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, conducted a field guidance at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex.

During the visit, Choe Ryong Hae toured various parts of the complex, encouraging the officials and the working class who have rallied to enhance maintenance work and increase steel production in line with the decisions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

He examined the ongoing construction of an energy-saving oxygen blast furnace and the establishment of a trichrome iron production process, stressing the importance of these projects in strengthening the foundation for Juche iron production and achieving production growth. He emphasized the execution of phase-by-phase plans, active measures for the supply of raw materials, fuel, and materials, and the unconditional attainment of the steel production targets set by the Party.

Choe Ryong Hae also discussed the continuous updating of the technical information database in the science and technology dissemination room, ensuring that managers, technicians, and workers acquire specialized knowledge suitable for their factories and professions. He mentioned the need to complete integrated production systems at a high level in line with the demands of the information age.

In a consultative meeting conducted on the spot, economic guidance officials deliberated issues such as expediting maintenance and reinforcement work to conclusively end it, waging the struggle to increase production to fully meet the steel demand arising in various sectors of the people’s economy, and paying deep attention to the rear service work for the employees. Corresponding measures were discussed and devised.
