A groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 9 to mark the beginning of construction for regional-industry factories and a new hospital in Ryonggang County, part of the Regional Development 20×10 Policy. The event was attended by Pak Thae Song, Premier of the DPRK Cabinet, along with senior Party, government, and military officials. Soldiers of the Korean People’s Army, local officials, and residents from Nampho Municipality and Ryonggang County also participated in the ceremony.
During his speech, Pak Thae Song emphasized that the simultaneous construction of modern regional factories and a model hospital aligns with the expanding regional development policy outlined at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea. He underscored the urgency of building modern hospitals as a top priority, stating that healthcare infrastructure must not be delayed since it is directly linked to the well-being and safety of regional populations. He reaffirmed that the government remains committed to fulfilling promises to the people, ensuring that regional development continues to progress with greater achievements than in previous years.
Pak Thae Song urged the soldier-builders involved in the project to maintain high-quality construction standards, particularly for the hospital, where strict hygiene and architectural precision are essential. He stressed the importance of a meticulous and responsible work ethic, ensuring that every aspect of the hospital’s construction meets modern healthcare requirements.
To officially commence the project, a blasting operation was conducted, symbolizing the start of construction. As the ground trembled, participants cheered, celebrating the advancement toward a stronger, more developed future. The ceremony highlighted the DPRK’s commitment to regional rejuvenation, focusing on both economic growth and healthcare development. With this new initiative, Ryonggang County is set to benefit from enhanced industry and improved medical services, marking another step toward comprehensive regional progress.
