A special performance was held at the Mansudae Art Theatre on February 16 to mark the 83rd birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il.
The event was attended by Choe Ryong Hae, a senior official in the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and Vice Chairman of North Korea’s State Affairs Commission, along with members of the WPK Central Committee, distinguished citizens of Pyongyang, artists, performers, and members of a delegation of ethnic Koreans from Japan visiting the country.
The show opened with “February is Spring” and “A Song for Comrade Kim Jong Il”, filling the venue with emotion as the audience reflected on his legacy.
Through well-known songs, the performance highlighted key moments of Kim Jong Il’s life, portraying him as a leader who dedicated himself to the country’s prosperity and the well-being of its people.
The highlight of the evening was the song “A Familiar Name”, which resonated deeply with the audience, symbolizing affection and reverence for Kim Jong Il’s leadership.
The performance concluded on an uplifting note, reinforcing the audience’s optimism and confidence in the future.
