Choe Chang Ho, a People’s Artist and creator from the Korean Painting Creation Group at the Mansudae Art Studio, is a talented artist known for his bold and vigorous brushstrokes, passionate and vivid colors, unique compositions, and strong contrasts of light and shadow. Hailing from Onsong County in North Hamgyong Province, located in the northeastern part of the country, he primarily created Korean paintings such as Paektu Mountain Heaven Lake, Meanders of the Amnok River, and The Theater of Revolution. His works mainly feature Mount Paektu (2,750 meters), a sacred mountain of the Korean nation and a revolutionary holy site, as well as northern landscapes.
