The second-phase project for reconstructing the promenade along the River Taedong has been successfully completed in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.

A section between Okryu and Rungna bridges was newly paved and railed off with well-cut granites from the river.

Thousands of trees of good species were transplanted and over 60 thousand square meters of lawn created.

Choe Jong Ho, vice-chairman of the Pyongyang City People’s Committee, told KCNA reporters that the project could be finished ahead of schedule thanks to the patriotic enthusiasm displayed by working citizens and officials of ministries and national institutions to spruce up the city.

It is gaining momentum in the DPRK to protect revetments and green their surrounding areas.
