“Green insam (Abelmoschus Esculentus Moench)” is under cultivation in the DPRK.
It’s Korean name is: 《푸른인삼》
In Pyongyang City alone, it has been cultivated in several hundred hectares. It is an annual herbaceous plant rich in protein. The productivity of newly-bred one is 1.5 times higher than existing one. Its green fruit and seed are edible for their high nutritive value.
The oil content of seed reaches nearly 20 percent. “Green insam” abounds in protein, vitamins and carbohydrate, as compared with other vegetables.
Regular intake of “green insam” takes almost the same efficacy as insam.
