Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army, inspects one army unit after another, drawing international attention. His inspection trips have a few characteristics.
First, they are beyond the limits of time and space.
Rain or shine, he tours army units all the year round–New Year’s Day, cold winter, hot summer, national holidays, Sundays, etc. Sometimes his trips last for several days each. The units he has inspected include headquarters, companies and front-line posts, some in remote mountains, some others on far-flung islands and still others on the Military Demarcation Line that divides Korea into north and south. His inspection of the Panmunjom Mission of the KPA was sensational.
During these inspection trips he has met the service personnel of different ranks–generals, officers, sergeants and privates. At times he gives pep talks to officers’ wives.
Second, he shows scrupulous concern for the service personnel.
Before inquiring about the units’ combat readiness and seeing soldiers under training, he learns in detail about their cultural and aesthetic activities and the supply services for them. At the soldiers’ halls or libraries he goes over DVDs and books. Looking round the barracks, he directs attention to their structure, bedding and room temperature. At bathhouses he is concerned with the quality of water, temperature in saunas and their use.
He makes the rounds of mess halls, kitchens, subsidiary food-processing areas and storehouses, sideline farms and other welfare service facilities, asking about the variety and amount of subsidiary foods and their storage and cooking methods.
He often has talks with privates, asking them about their age, birthplace, parents, height, weight and military service.
During his inspection of a women’s coast artillery company called Persimmon-Tree Company, he spent long hours posing for a photo with each of the soldiers there.
When guided to a newly built seawater-filtering room at an island-defending unit, he took a sip of the water and said with great delight that his wish of making the soldiers at island-defending units lead a comfortable life free from worries about drinking water came true.
He always mingles with the service personnel and takes care of them with paternal affection.
Last but not least, he directs great efforts to completing the combat readiness of the Strategic
Force.
As is well known, this is an elite force boasting its sophisticated strategic weapons with varying ranges.
Kim Jong Un is fully determined to prevent the US, which has become intoxicated with its “nuclear supremacy,” from starting another war on the Korean peninsula and safeguard peace and security in the Korean peninsula and Northeast Asia.
Despite the danger to his safety, he went to the sites for the assembling and launching of rockets and gave detailed guidance to the Strategic Force’s test-firing of ballistic rockets.
The underwater launch test of ballistic missile from a strategic submarine, test-firing of the ground-to-ground intermediate-range strategic ballistic rockets Hwasong 10 and Hwasong 12, test-firing of ICBM Hwasong 14 and other significant events were overseen by the Supreme Commander. Today the Strategic Force of the KPA has been developed into an elite force that is capable of performing its combat missions with credit, whatever the conditions and circumstances.
Many experts in the US and other nations hostile to the DPRK are very busy confirming the country’s nuclear capability that has been built up under Kim Jong Un’s guidance.
Some said: He allows the routes and other concrete details concerning his inspection trips to be made public. He seems willing to confront the US face to face. The north Korean army’s possession of ICBM and H-bomb has helped to tip the scales against the US.
