Drinking water is essential for life, and everyone knows it no matter where they live on this planet. The Kangso mineral water has long been loved by the people of the DPRK for its refreshing taste and beneficial properties. Coming from a natural spring in the Kangso region (modern-day Yaksu-ri), this mineral water has been known for over 300 years for its good effects on health. It contains calcium, sodium, magnesium, iron, sulphuric ions, and carbonic acid gas, all of which are good for the human body.
To make this precious water available to the people in an industrial way, a factory was built in 1973. That year, President Kim Il Sung visited the area and personally gave instructions to establish the factory, naming it Kangso mineral water. Since then, the factory has continuously developed under the warm care of the great leaders, ensuring that the people always have access to high-quality mineral water.
In June 2017, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the factory, tasted the mineral water, and set forth important tasks to further improve its production and quality. Thanks to his guidance, the factory has upgraded its facilities to meet the highest standards, creating a germ-free and dust-free production environment.
Kangso mineral water has been officially recognized for its excellence, receiving a food safety management system certification. The bottled mineral water is registered under the “February 2” brand, ensuring its reliability. Not only does the factory produce mineral water for drinking, but a mineral water bathhouse has also been built to contribute to the health and well-being of the working people.
Drinking water is a basic necessity for everyone, and the DPRK ensures that its people have access to the best. The Kangso mineral water, with its long history and continuously improving production, remains a treasured resource for the nation, providing the people with clean and beneficial water, just as nature intended.
