The birth of girl pilots like flowers in full bloom over the sky of Songun Korea is writing a new page in the army building history of the country, which is associated with undying exploits brilliant Songun commanders performed in developing the Korean People’s Army into invincible armed forces that reliably safeguard the socialist motherland and its people.

He encouraged girl pilots with trust and affection, highly appreciating that the Korean women are strenuous enough to pilot the plane as well as men. He had the first women’s flight group formed in February Juche 82(1993). During his Songun-based revolutionary leadership he inspected the group to see their drills and take care of their living conditions,.
One December day he visited a unit of the then air force and met a girl who became the pilot following her parents. Expressing satisfaction with her, he spoke highly of her deed that it was a manifestation of ardent love for the motherland.

In November last year he personally guided the solo training of taking off and landing executed by Jo Kum Hyang and Rim Sol, women interceptor pilots. In June he went to the airport to see Jo Kum Hyang and Rim Sol flying supersonic jets and demonstrating excellent flying skills. He said that they were such admirable young girls and flowers bloomed in the sky and was greatly satisfied with the fact that women supersonic jet pilots were born for the first time in the country’s army building history.
Designating the day as the day of birth of women pilots of supersonic jets, he continued to say that the whole county, particularly women, would be glad at the news and that the women pilots were laudable daughters of the country and the people, and indomitable women revolutionaries.
Keeping in their mind the trust and affection of the Supreme Commander who put forward them as filial daughters of heroic Korea and flowers in the sky of Songun Korea, Jo Kum Hyang and Rim Sol are making redoubled efforts to live up to their pledge of defending the leader unto death.
