Recently, in 2023, the Top 10 Outstanding Educators were once again recognized. Among them is Kim Jong Im, an educational institute teacher at the Moranbong District Kindergarten affiliated with Pyongyang Teachers Training College.
Kim Jong Im boasts a 20-year career in education. At the age of forty, nearly half of her life has been devoted to the little ones in kindergarten.
To her, the children in the small kindergarten rooms were not just toddlers but the protagonists responsible for the prosperity and socialist future of our nation.
Though they are still “sprouts,” in the realm of labor, they are the “pillars” supporting the nation. Kim Jong Im’s realization that she herself is the “gardener” nurturing these “sprouts” sparked profound research, contemplation, and passion.
Her consistent evaluations as a skilled and noble educator stem from high qualifications, abilities, and a noble character, becoming invaluable nourishment for the children’s growth.
In recent years, Kim Jong Im ‘s educational institute has raised dozens of children with exceptional memory skills, many of whom have been recognized as the best in nationwide talent competitions.
Last year, she contributed significantly to raising the standards of kindergarten education in rural areas by creating innovative robotics and science play teaching methods suited to children’s natural talents. Her teaching methods, which incorporate diverse approaches with warm and gentle yet traditional expressions, serve as a model for educational institutes nationwide.
As the children she nurtured over 20 years grow and distinguish themselves in various fields, Kim Jong Im envisions them embodying the bright future of our nation.
Her newly refined determination is evident. Recently selected as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Educators in 2023, Kim Jong Im feels that this honor is both encouragement and a responsibility from her homeland.
