In the heart of Hamhung, a bustling industrial and scientific city in the DPRK, lies the largest and most advanced greenhouse farming facility. Spanning 280 hectares, the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm is a testament to the visionary leadership of the esteemed Comrade Kim Jong Un, who recognized the importance of ensuring a steady supply of fresh vegetables to the people.
The farm boasts 850 blocks of greenhouses, each equipped with state-of-the-art technology and modern equipment. The semi-arched and double-sheet hydroponic greenhouses provide ideal conditions for growing various species of fruit-bearing and green vegetables. Additionally, tens of blocks of greenhouses are installed with geothermal heating systems for cultivating vegetable seedlings.
Advanced technologies such as hydroponic cultivation and nutrient solution analysis have been introduced in every greenhouse. These measures have allowed the farm to put vegetable production on a scientific, intensive, and industrial footing at a high level, making it the largest facility of its kind in the world in terms of production area and capacity.
Beyond the farm’s impressive agricultural achievements, it also features a village with 113 blocks of free-of-charge dwelling houses for over 1,000 households. The village feels like a holiday resort, with one or two-story homes available in 99 different types.
The officials and workers of the farm are dedicated to upholding the noble intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to prioritize the improvement of people’s well-being through increased production. They continue to burn with enthusiasm and are committed to advancing their expertise, contributing to the ongoing success of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm.
