The Unjong Tea Shop in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, serves different kinds of tea including green and black tea. What is peculiar in the shop is that all the walls and chairs are pink. So the visitors feel as if they were in the garden of azaleas which have just blossomed.

The tea shop frequented by people is also associated with the meticulous love of the respected supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

Ri Un Gyong, Chief of the Unjong Tea Shop, says: “The respected Marshal Kim Jong Un called at our Unjong Tea Shop nearing completion on May 24, 2012. He familiarized himself in detail with its construction and operation and looked at the decorated walls of the hall for a while. He paid attention to the colour of the chairs and warmly instructed on building the tea shop to give a gentle sentiment, saying that if the colours of the decorated walls and chairs are harmonized, it would look like an azalea hall.”

Azalea heralds warm spring before others and symbolizes strong spirit and beauty. That’s why the Korean people particularly love and value azalea of all flowers on this land.

And Kim Jong Un thought of azalea first while seeing the light pink chairs at the Unjong Tea Shop. Always concerned for providing the people with rich and civilized life, he brought fragrance of azaleas along with the Unjong tea.

The fragrance of azaleas at the Unjong Tea Shop will spread all over the country, telling the ever-increasing love of Kim Jong Un for the people.
