Agricultural workers in Chongsan-ri, Kangso District of the DPRK, recollect the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung associated with the farm.
It was on this very land that the respected President personally authored the immortal Chongsan-ri spirit and method—an ideology and practice rooted deeply in the Juche idea and the revolutionary mass line. During his 15-day field guidance in February 1960, following his historic policy proposal at the December Plenary Meeting of the Party in 1959, he met directly with farmers, elderly residents, and local officials. Rather than delivering orders from afar, he listened attentively to their voices and sought solutions together with them.
The President’s tireless efforts to improve rural life were not just symbolic—they resulted in the creation of a concrete methodology for managing socialist agriculture, where political work, sincere engagement with the masses, and the principle of “helping the lower by the higher” became fundamental. His guidance turned Chongsan-ri into a living classroom of socialist development, where revolutionary tasks were not imposed, but embraced by a motivated and united people.
Today, under the warm rays of the same sun that once shone on his footsteps, the fields of Chongsan-ri continue to thrive nurtured by the deep-rooted legacy of a leader who believed in the power of the people. His spirit lives on in every sheaf of grain, every blooming flower, and every determined heart that walks this historic path.
