During his guidance tour on May 11th and 12th, Comrade Kim Jong Un, the respected General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, inspected important defense industry enterprises under the Second Economic Committee to review and guide the implementation of the Party’s military industry policies.
Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Comrade Pak Jong Chon, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Comrade Jo Chun Ryong, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Comrade Kang Sun Nam, Defense Minister of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Comrade Kim Yong Hwan, Director of the Defense Science Institute, Comrade Hong Yong Chil, Vice Department Director of the Central Committee of the Party, and Comrade Kim Yo Jong.
During the inspection of enterprises producing advanced precision military supplies, Comrade Kim Jong Un emphasized the importance of modernizing production processes. He noted that the modernization of production processes in defense industry enterprises, which play a crucial role in enhancing the combat capabilities of the military, is a prerequisite for advancing independent national defense industries to a higher level and achieving world-class advanced technological capabilities.
Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed his satisfaction with the recent remarkable developments in defense industry production, attributing them to the soundness and vitality of our party’s defense economy development strategy and struggle policy.
Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the need to strengthen the technological capacity of defense industry enterprises in line with the highly modernized production processes, establish rigorous quality management regulations and discipline, systematically secure materials and cooperative products, and organize economic activities to ensure the thorough quality assurance of important military supplies.
Comrade Kim Jong Un emphasized the crucial role of key defense industry enterprises in materially and technically ensuring the readiness of our military, urging for more aggressive ideological and cultural activities for all workers and employees in accordance with the requirements of the revolutionary situation, to maximize their mental strength and fully engage in the struggle for military supplies production.
Comrade Kim Jong Un emphasized the need to further develop the struggle for establishing production culture and lifestyle culture in all defense industry enterprises under the Second Economic Committee, creating and innovating revolutionary cultural practices for military workers.
During the inspection of enterprises producing major sniper weapons, Comrade Kim Jong Un examined various newly developed sniper weapons, including sniper rifles, and directly assessed their performance.
Comrade Kim Jong Un showed great interest in the newly developed sniper rifles, praising our scientists and technicians for creating sniper rifles with world-class performance and effectiveness.
Comrade Kim Jong Un outlined the Party’s intention to initiate a higher level of sniper weapon revolution, discussing the principled issues and important tasks and methods to be pursued in defense economic organizational activities to realize the developmental direction of major sniper weapon production enterprises.
Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected the production status of the newly organized artillery units of the Korean People’s Army for this year and reviewed the production plans and current achievements, personally conducting test drives on the produced artillery pieces to assess their combat performance.
Comrade Kim Jong Un praised the high level of automation achieved in the artillery systems and the qualitative excellence of the artillery pieces, emphasizing the need for continuous improvement of productivity through scientific and technological advancement and relentless innovation to accelerate the enhancement of our military’s artillery combat capabilities.
