Members of the art groups at the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace in the DPRK delivered a performance on Feb. 14, celebrating the Day of the Shining Star, Chairman Kim Jong Il’s birthday.

The audience included Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, officials, and students from Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, and schoolchildren in Pyongyang Municipality.

The performance began with a small chorus titled “The Embrace of My Motherland,” an immortal masterpiece. The performers sang about the accomplishments of Generalissimo Kim Jong Il, who, in his youth, instilled fervent patriotism and emphasized the profound connection between the motherland and the leader.

The audience was moved by a folk solo titled “Our Father Is Best” and other numbers expressing heartfelt yearning and gratitude for the caring leadership of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un toward the members of the Korean Children’s Union.

The national instrumental quartet and other segments vividly portrayed the joyful spirit of the children as they prepared to become future leaders and juvenile revolutionaries under the nurturing guidance of the Party.

The performance highlighted the promising future of the country under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un, concluding with songs titled “Always Ready for the Socialist Country” and “Marshal Kim Jong Un Is Our Father.”
