A workshop took place at the Grand People’s Study House on Monday to mark 2018 World Day for Audiovisual Heritage.

Attending it were officials of relevant units including the Grand People’s Study House and members of the Beijing Office of UNESCO and the Asia and Pacific Regional Committee for World’s Heritage.

Speakers at the workshop said that world’s heritage make people know about histories and cultures of countries and enrich people’s life and promote the development of science and technology.

They expressed expectation that the workshop will be a good occasion in raising social interest in heritage, improving the work for protection and use of audiovisual heritage and hastening the work to attain the sustainable development goals of the UN.

The workshop heard several speeches underlining the need for protection and use of world’s heritage and explaining about the successes and experience gained in this work and international activities.

The participants watched a video on protection of world’s heritage.
