Korean scientists and technicians have made lots of excellent scientific and technological achievements in 2017 as well with a firm will to implement the resolve of the party.

The scientists and technicians of the State Academy of Sciences have dynamically scaled the heights of latest science and technology in the spirit of resolute implementation, in the spirit of self-reliance and self-development and in the indomitable offensive spirit. They went out to major industrial establishments including the Samchon Catfish Farm, the Kumsong Tractor Factory and the Kumsanpho Fish Pickling Factory and, pooling creative wisdom and enthusiasm with the technicians there, made valuable research findings for putting the national economy on a Juche-oriented basis. With a confident ambition to go ahead of the world they have forcefully promoted researches to solve issues that remained unsolved in basic sciences, presenting a number of excellent results in researches including the study of laser oscillation in the metal nano structure.
Especially the scientists and technicians of the academy have directed efforts to the field of latest science including information technology and nano technology, making great successes.
A greater progress has been made in the technical preparations for establishing the C 1 chemical industry.
Multiple and successive achievements have been made in scientific researches in the agricultural, medical and different other scientific research institutions.
The agricultural researchers have achieved successes in the researches for breeding high-yield varieties of crops and for developing new botanical agrochemicals.
Medical scientists have developed an injection for prevention and treatment of thrombus and established new treatment methods for cancer immunotherapy and treatment of nervous diseases and made other valuable successes in researches.
While importance is attached to science and technology throughout the country, national sci-tech presentations and exhibitions of different sections drew public attention.
Introduced there were many excellent scientific research findings and experiences made by teachers, researchers and students in the educational and scientific institutions including Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology and by scientists, technicians and working people in different fields of the national economy including light industry and metal industry.
The sci-tech presentations and exhibitions powerfully demonstrated the validity and vitality of the line of the WPK on attaching importance to science and technology and the policy on making all people well versed in science and technology and the successes and experiences have been actively introduced to different fields of the national economy.
